Big presentation of Samsung Galaxy Unpacked: all the new products were seen at once

Big presentation of Samsung Galaxy Unpacked! Under the slogan “Let everything be productive, exciting and creative,” Samsung showed a new series of top-end smartphones, the Galaxy Note20. It consists of two models: in fact, the Note20 and the more sophisticated Note20 Ultra.

The logic is this: if you want all the coolest that Samsung has to offer, then, of course, you buy a Note20 Ultra. In the same case, when you vote for rationality and do not chase the maximum characteristics, look at the Note20.

Design

The Galaxy Note20 Ultra will appear in three colors: black, bronze, and white. For the Galaxy, Note20 prepared three other shades: matte bronze, gray, and mint.

The top-of-the-box Samsung Galaxy Note20 Ultra features a huge screen with ultra-thin frames, a real frameless design in all its glory – this time. The second point is the transition towards an angular, rectangular design with sharp lines and faces. A large module with three camera lenses immediately pays attention: it visibly protrudes above a flat surface.

The second smartphone, Samsung Galaxy Note20 Ultra, is slightly different in design: it also has thin frames, but the body becomes more smooth and not so “sharp.” The camera unit is smaller.

Screen

The top-of-the-range Galaxy Note20 Ultra has a huge 6.9-inch screen with Gorilla Glass 7. The display is called the quad HD Dynamic AMOLED 2X Infinity-O Display; it has a 3088 × 1400 and is supported by 120 Hz. And the smartphone automatically recognizes the conditions and adapts to the user, so it is possible to save energy.

For example, during the game, the frequency of image updates increases, and when you read or flick through the menu, it decreases. Of the nice chips, an impressive margin of brightness, compared to the Note10, is 25% brighter.

Samsung Galaxy Note20 display is a little easier: no 120 Hz.

Camera

Both smartphones received triple camera modules; the main module is different: the Galaxy Note20 Ultra is 108 MEGAPIXEL, the Galaxy Note20 – 64 MEGAPIXEL. The zoom is also different: a five-fold optical approximation with laser focus in the Galaxy Note20 Ultra against the three-fold hybrid-optical in the Galaxy Note20. The 12MP super-wide module in both smartphones is the same.

To create high-quality video, the Galaxy Note20 Ultra camera is equipped with autofocus with a laser sensor. Smartphones shoot videos in 8K, 4K, and FHD.

Chips

Smartphones work under Android 10; the interface One UI 2.5 reacts smoothly and quickly. The phones’ heart is the Samsung Exynos 990 processor, 12GB of RAM, and 256 or 512GB of its own.

An interesting feature of the Samsung Galaxy Note20 will be transferring files from one device to another without wires. For the first time, it will work only with galaxy Note20 and Note20 Ultra but later will appear in other manufacturers’ phones.

The Samsung Galaxy Note smartphone series has always received a stylus; the pen S Pen distinguishes the next-generation phones with increased sensitivity. The latest version has a response of only 9ms – it feels as if you are writing with your hand on a piece of paper; everything is as natural as possible.

Of course, handwriting recognition works, including in Russian. There is a useful feature: when you make a text note, it can be supplemented with audio recording at the same time.

Sound through AKG stereo speakers, fast charging in the kit, preserved, and protection from dust and moisture.

Prices and release date

The Galaxy Note20 will be available in Russian retail on August 21 in three colors: bronze, graphite, and mint. Customers will be able to access one version for 256GB. The price is 79,990 rubles.

The Galaxy Note20 Ultra will also be available in three colors: bronze, black and white. The 256GB version will cost customers 99,990 rubles, and 512 GB will cost 119,990 rubles. On sale from August 21.

Samsung Galaxy Watch3

Smartwatches have the design of a classic round-screen watch. The new Samsung Galaxy Watch3 is suitable for the usual straps from any watch – it means that a choice of accessories. The straps are handmade from leather with the participation of ECCO.

The watch has a thin body and a small weight, with a nice stainless steel case, and the constant rotating bezel makes it easier to navigate the menu, complementing the capabilities of the touchscreen.

The watch has grown a little in size, now available in two formats: 41 and 45 mm. To call some “male” and others “female,” in my opinion, strange because it is a question of taste and personal preferences.

The screen’s resolution is 360 × 360 points; the Gorilla Glass DX protective glass is used. Depending on the model, the diagonal differs 1.2 inches for the younger model and 1.4 inches for the older model—a selection of 80,000 dials from the Galaxy Store and 40 screen combinations.

The watch is powered by Tizen OS 5.5, with an Exynos 9110 processor, 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of its own. The watch connects via Bluetooth 5.0 or Wi-Fi; there are a built-in GPS and NFC for contactless payments. It is very nice that the watch meets the requirements of the MIL-STD-810G standard and is not afraid of moisture and dust; they have IP68 protection.

As it should be a “smart” wearable gadget, Galaxy Watch3 take into account the heart rate, monitor stress levels, and monitor sleep quality. In the future, they will add the functions of measuring blood pressure, ECG, and blood oxygen saturation.

With the help of watches, you can train at home, using numerous applications: more than 120 programs for classes are available.

Samsung Galaxy Buds Live with noise cancellation.

Wireless headphones with noise cancellation have become a trend in recent years; Samsung presented the new Galaxy Buds Live in an unusual shape. Unlike the usual Galaxy Buds, the Buds Live model replicates the ear’s anatomical shape, providing a comfortable fit.

Accordingly, the headphones sit tightly in the ears, do not fall out, and at the same time and almost do not feel, with them, you can go through like this all day. When fully charged, the headphones can run for up to 6 hours in playback mode, and the case provides up to 15 hours of listening to music. You can restore the charge for a whole hour of work in just 5 minutes.

AKG skills were used to set the sound. The Galaxy Buds Live has a system of three microphones, a 12mm speaker and an AKG bass channel, a built-in bone conduction sensor for clear voice transmission or sound recording in noisy places. In this way, headphones can work as a wireless microphone if you connect them to the Galaxy Note20.

Interestingly, the Galaxy Buds Live has received noise cancellation, although they are related to open-air headphones. They eliminate the external low-frequency noise: the sound of the road or the train’s noise – but at the same time, you can monitor the situation around; there is no feeling of vacuum and a sense of security.
